Software Engineer II, Cloud Engineering

About this role

Axon seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design and maintain AWS-based systems supporting a drone detection and analytics platform. You'll build scalable data pipelines, manage containerized workloads, and optimize cloud infrastructure while collaborating with data and analytics teams.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, Fargate, S3, and CloudWatch
• Build and maintain reliable, scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems for data processing and model operations
• Manage Dockerized workloads and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment
• Optimize cost, performance, and security across AWS accounts
• Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to automate cloud-native workflows

• AWS infrastructure (4+ years production experience)
• Infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation)
• Lambda, Fargate, S3, SNS/SQS, EC2, CloudWatch
• Docker and containerization

• Microservice design patterns
• Problem-solving and communication
