About this role

Axon seeks a Supplier Development Engineer II to lead quality and performance management across their global supplier network, supporting products like conducted electrical weapons and counter-drone devices. You'll conduct audits, evaluate new suppliers, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with Axon's quality standards while reducing defects and costs.

What you'll do

  • Audit contract manufacturers and suppliers on manufacturing processes, inspection procedures, and quality standards compliance
  • Evaluate and select new suppliers through onsite assessments and quote reviews for process-related costs
  • Oversee New Product Introduction and lead design-for-manufacturability reviews, PPAP/FAIR qualification, and FMEA monitoring
  • Assess supplier inspection capabilities and generate inspection plans including capability studies and measurement method evaluations
  • Issue and track corrective action requests (SCARs) and non-conformance reports (NCMRs) while reviewing supplier root cause analyses
  • Report supplier quality metrics and performance data to internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and supply chain

  • Manufacturing process knowledge (casting, molding, machining, PCBA assembly)
  • Quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS 9100, IATF 16949)
  • First- and second-party audit experience
  • Technical drawing and engineering documentation interpretation
  • Supplier quality management and corrective action processes
  • Statistical analysis and process capability assessment (Cpk, Ppk, Gage R&R)
  • Cross-functional communication and collaboration
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement
