About this role
Axon is hiring a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design and deploy a cloud-based emergency real-time communication platform for 911 infrastructure. You'll integrate VoIP and RTC services, ensure high availability and security compliance, and collaborate across engineering, operations, and business teams to deliver lifesaving emergency response technology.
What you'll do
- Deploy and troubleshoot cloud-based emergency communication platforms with 5-nines uptime requirements
- Configure VoIP signaling services, PBX systems, and unified communications solutions for public safety clients
- Integrate multi-tenant RTC and VoIP infrastructure ensuring security, authentication, and compliance standards
- Onboard new customers and provide technical training to operations teams on 911 systems
- Create technical specifications and solution documents aligned with customer requirements
- Serve as technical liaison between engineering and business stakeholders on UC initiatives
What they're looking for
- VoIP architecture and open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC protocols and troubleshooting
- Networking with deep OSI model knowledge (layers 1-7)
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- AWS cloud deployment and security
- Video/audio codecs, encryption, and transport protocols
- Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
- Network certifications like CCIE, CCNP, CCNA Voice (preferred)
