About this role
Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a cloud-based 911 emergency communication platform. You'll integrate VoIP and real-time communication services with high availability and security standards, working across engineering, operations, and business teams.
What you'll do
- Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy the emergency communication platform for 911 infrastructure
- Install, integrate, and maintain PBX systems and unified communications solutions
- Onboard new customers by translating requirements into technical solutions and specifications
- Provide technical support and training to the operations team on emergency communications systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, sales, and product management
- Create technical documentation and solution specifications
What they're looking for
- VoIP architecture and open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- VoIP protocols (SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC) and troubleshooting
- Networking fundamentals and OSI model knowledge
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- AWS cloud deployment and infrastructure
- Audio/video codecs, encryption, and transport protocols
- Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
- Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA Voice) (nice-to-have)
