About this role

Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a cloud-based 911 emergency communication platform. You'll integrate VoIP and real-time communication services with high availability and security standards, working across engineering, operations, and business teams.

What you'll do

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy the emergency communication platform for 911 infrastructure
  • Install, integrate, and maintain PBX systems and unified communications solutions
  • Onboard new customers by translating requirements into technical solutions and specifications
  • Provide technical support and training to the operations team on emergency communications systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, sales, and product management
  • Create technical documentation and solution specifications

What they're looking for

  • VoIP architecture and open-source UC platforms (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
  • VoIP protocols (SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC) and troubleshooting
  • Networking fundamentals and OSI model knowledge
  • Linux administration and bash scripting
  • AWS cloud deployment and infrastructure
  • Audio/video codecs, encryption, and transport protocols
  • Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
  • Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA Voice) (nice-to-have)
