About this role
Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer to design and deploy cloud-based real-time communication infrastructure for emergency 911 services. You'll integrate VoIP and RTC platforms, ensure high availability and security compliance, and liaise between engineering and operations to deliver a mission-critical public safety platform.
What you'll do
- Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy Carbyne's emergency communication platform with 5-nines uptime requirements
- Design and integrate VoIP, RTC, and PBX solutions for 911 infrastructure across multi-tenant cloud environments
- Onboard new customers by aligning deployments with requirements and best practices documentation
- Create technical specifications and solution architecture documents for UC integrations
- Provide technical support and training to Operations teams on emergency communications systems
- Collaborate with R&D, Sales, Product, and CTO Office on UC-related initiatives

- VoIP architecture and open-source deployment (Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk)
- SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC protocols and real-time communication troubleshooting
- Linux administration and bash scripting
- Networking fundamentals and OSI model (Layers 1-7)
- AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment
- Video/audio codecs, encryption, and transport protocols
- Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
- Industry certifications: CCIE, CCNP, CCNA Voice (nice-to-have)
