Database Engineer II

About this role

AXS is seeking a Database Engineer II to design, implement, and optimize scalable database solutions supporting their ticketing platform. You'll work across relational and NoSQL databases while managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and ensuring high availability for mission-critical systems.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Aurora, and MongoDB
• Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines with automated schema migrations and testing
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation for database provisioning
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure database performance and security
• Optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans to improve performance and reduce costs
• Manage high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies

What they're looking for

• PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or Aurora (deep expertise in at least one)
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Liquibase
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• AWS cloud platform experience
• Database security, encryption, and access control
• Kafka cluster management
• Production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• DevOps and cloud environment practices
