Transmission Planning Engineer

About this role

Aypa Power seeks a Transmission Planning Engineer to conduct powerflow modeling and transmission system analysis for utility-scale energy storage and renewable projects across North America. You'll support project development and acquisition strategies by analyzing interconnection feasibility, creating technical reports, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Perform powerflow analysis and transmission system modeling for battery energy storage, renewable, and hybrid projects
• Assess technical and commercial feasibility of greenfield and acquisition opportunities
• Develop planning-level cost estimates for interconnection facilities
• Provide transmission analytical support to guide project development strategies
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries of analysis conclusions
• Communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What they're looking for

• Powerflow analysis tools (minimum 5 years experience with one or more)
• Transmission system modeling
• Energy market knowledge and hands-on modeling experience
• Technical report writing and documentation
• Cost estimation and feasibility assessment
• Data analysis and interpretation
• Cross-functional collaboration
• Presentation and communication skills
