Backpack seeks a Systems Engineer to develop and maintain critical Rust-based backend infrastructure with a focus on safety, performance, and reliability. You'll collaborate across teams to design low-level systems, identify bottlenecks, and drive security improvements in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

• Own and maintain critical backend components written in Rust
• Design and implement low-level systems prioritizing safety and performance
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and security teams
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and security issues
• Build high-performance services and tooling from scratch
