About this role

Medicat, a Banyan Software portfolio company, seeks an experienced AI Engineer to design and deploy production-grade AI capabilities within their healthcare SaaS platform. You'll architect AI-native features that enhance how healthcare organizations manage data, workflows, and operations while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

What you'll do

• Design and implement AI-powered features within the MedicatOne platform, integrating modern AI models and services into production workflows
• Work with large healthcare datasets to build systems that leverage structured data effectively and enable intelligent operational insights
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing SaaS architecture, collaborating with backend engineers on scalable system design and performance optimization
• Ship production-ready AI features iteratively while establishing best practices for AI development within the organization
• Collaborate with product leadership on prioritization and translate AI opportunities into tangible product functionality
• Ensure AI systems are reliable, performant, and secure while maintaining healthcare compliance standards

What they're looking for

• 5+ years building production SaaS systems
• LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic) and LLM-based feature development
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and embedding techniques
• Data modeling, SQL, and analytics workflows with large structured datasets
• Healthcare data familiarity including HIPAA, PHI handling, and de-identification
• API design and backend system architecture
• End-to-end system deployment and production AI/ML implementation
