About this role

Basata seeks an AI Workflow Engineer to own end-to-end customer implementations of AI agents for healthcare practices, balancing project management with process design and workflow configuration. You'll manage concurrent deployments across different EMRs and systems, working on-site to understand current workflows and translate them into agent configurations, routing rules, and escalation paths.

What you'll do

  • Own multiple customer implementation projects simultaneously from contract through go-live and stabilization
  • Map and validate current-state workflows on-site using swimlane process maps with end-users
  • Configure AI agents, routing rules, extraction fields and escalation paths based on process analysis
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, run phase gates, and report status updates regularly
  • Conduct discovery, UAT, and training sessions across diverse audiences from front-desk to physician owners
  • Triage defects during testing and determine what ships, waits, or falls out of scope

  • Stakeholder management and customer-facing communication
  • Healthcare/EMR familiarity (NextGen, ModMed, AthenaOne, Veradigm, eClinicalWorks)
  • AI/workflow configuration and logic design
  • Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage deployment challenges
  • Lean/Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)
