About this role

Basata seeks a full-stack engineer with strong AI expertise to deploy and customize AI-powered automation agents within healthcare practices. You'll own end-to-end production outcomes, adapt the platform to customer workflows, integrate with EMR systems, and build scalable deployment patterns that help clinics automate administrative tasks.

What you'll do

  • Deploy AI agents into healthcare practice workflows and ensure reliability and positive staff experience
  • Build full-stack features (UI, backend, data pipelines, integrations) to support successful deployments
  • Configure agent behavior including prompts, tools, orchestration logic, and guardrails for practice-specific processes
  • Own production metrics: accuracy, latency, reliability, efficiency gains, and ROI at assigned practices
  • Debug and resolve real-world failures including edge cases, data issues, and integration problems
  • Create repeatable deployment playbooks, best practices, and documentation to scale implementations

  • Full-stack software engineering (3–5+ years production experience)
  • Frontend development (React, TypeScript)
  • Backend development (Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs)
  • Applied AI/LLM production experience (agents, function calling, prompt optimization)
  • EHR/healthcare system integrations
  • Data pipeline and database work
  • Customer-facing communication and problem-solving
  • Debugging and troubleshooting complex systems
