About this role

Base seeks a Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop, deploy, and optimize automated test systems for battery backup product manufacturing. You'll collaborate across teams to improve equipment reliability, cycle time, and first-pass yield while supporting both internal and contract manufacturer operations.

What you'll do

  • Lead reliability improvements, cycle time optimization, and maintenance schedules for manufacturing test equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test systems meet performance expectations
  • Analyze data and gather customer feedback to identify and advocate for solutions post-deployment
  • Build, validate, and deploy test equipment to production lines with comprehensive documentation
  • Provide ongoing troubleshooting and technical support for deployed testers
  • Support equipment qualification during development and manufacturing ramp-up phases

What they're looking for

  • Electrical test systems design (5+ years)
  • End-of-line and functional test system design and build
  • Industrial sensors, data acquisition, and I/O devices (pogo-pins, transducers, power meters, PLCs)
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Software code comprehension (TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, Golang, C/C++)
  • CAN bus communications and signal interpretation
  • PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Siemens)
  • Grid simulators, power manipulation, and inverter operations
