About this role

Baseten is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to lead legal strategy for their compute and infrastructure supply chain, negotiating GPU, cloud capacity, and datacenter agreements that balance flexibility, cost, and operational resilience. You'll own the inbound vendor contracting surface while supporting broader legal initiatives and working cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and security teams.

What you'll do

  • Negotiate GPU compute, cloud capacity, and infrastructure services agreements to build flexibility and enforceable SLAs
  • Lead colocation, power, datacenter, and network contracting with focus on operational resilience terms
  • Map vendor concentration risk and dependencies, partnering with Finance and Security on structural improvements
  • Manage legal dimensions of strategic infrastructure relationships and multi-role vendor arrangements
  • Build template libraries, SLA-credit playbooks, and intake workflows for procurement team scale
  • Support customer deals, M&A diligence, and strategic partnerships as needed
