Software Engineer - Billing and Internal Tooling

About this role

Baseten is hiring a Software Engineer to build and own the company's billing, pricing, and revenue infrastructure. You'll work across Finance, Sales, and GTM teams to create strategic billing systems that support growth while maintaining customer trust and operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end billing and revenue infrastructure including pricing, invoicing, metering, and reporting
• Build and maintain billing platform integrations (including Orb) with focus on correctness and auditability
• Partner with Finance, Sales, and GTM to create internal tooling for quoting, approvals, renewals, and revenue reporting
• Design scalable billing systems that adapt to new products and go-to-market strategies
• Ensure reliability and operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and incident response for revenue-critical workflows
• Lead high-impact projects from requirement clarification through iterative shipping and quality improvements
