Sales Engineer, Accounting Solutions

About this role

Basis is seeking a Sales Engineer to build and maintain demo environments for AI-powered accounting solutions. You'll create custom procedures and automation that showcase real accounting workflows to prospects, working behind the scenes at the intersection of accounting expertise and technical execution.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain demo environments across accounting, finance, audit, and tax workflows
• Create custom procedures within the Basis platform that showcase real accounting use cases
• Automate repetitive tasks using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the Basis platform
• Stay current on product updates and translate new capabilities into demo-ready assets
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure demos reflect customer workflows

What they're looking for

• Accounting or finance domain expertise (2-4 years experience)
• Task automation (Excel, Python, or similar tools)
• Technical writing and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
• Quick learner with strong software and platform adoption skills
• Detail-oriented project management
• Accounting software experience (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Sage preferred)
• Startup mentality and comfort with ambiguity
• Multi-practice accounting knowledge (accounting/finance, audit, tax)
