Lead a team of infrastructure engineers at Benchling, a biotech AI platform used by 200,000+ scientists. This highly technical leadership role combines hands-on cloud infrastructure expertise with people management, focusing on reliability, scalability, security, and developer productivity in a regulated environment.

What you'll do

  • Build and mentor an infrastructure engineering team across all experience levels through hiring, coaching, and career development
  • Deliver critical infrastructure initiatives including reliability, scalability, cost optimization, security, and compliance practices
  • Drive SRE principles into operations: implement service-level thinking, operational readiness, automation, and resiliency patterns
  • Improve incident response and on-call health through better processes, postmortems, and cross-team collaboration
  • Evolve AWS cloud foundations including networking, compute patterns, and Kubernetes-based services
  • Ensure infrastructure changes meet regulated biotech requirements for auditability and traceability while maintaining team velocity
