Software Engineer, Platform (Developer Experience)

Join Benchling as a Software Engineer focused on Platform and Developer Experience, where you'll build internal tooling and infrastructure that enables engineers to develop and deploy code efficiently. You'll work on release pipelines, testing frameworks, and developer productivity initiatives while collaborating across teams to enhance engineering workflows at a biotech AI company.

What you'll do

• Design and build tooling for seamless development, testing, and production deployment workflows
• Lead development of release systems enabling code changes to production within 10 minutes
• Gather and act on qualitative and quantitative developer feedback to improve experiences
• Integrate quality assurance into software development workflows and feedback loops
• Establish and promote engineering best practices and operational patterns across the organization
• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to address workflow challenges and boost developer productivity

What they're looking for

• 7+ years software engineering experience
• 5+ years with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) in production
• Web framework expertise (Node.js or Python preferred)
• Problem-solving and iterative feedback skills
• Product-first development mindset
• Cross-functional communication abilities
