Core Engineer

About this role

Bio seeks a Core Engineer to design and build foundational AI agent infrastructure and on-chain coordination systems for a decentralized science platform. This is a full ownership role where you'll architect high-performance backend systems that enable scientists to fund and commercialize biotech research at scale.

What you'll do

• Architect and build AI agent infrastructure and orchestration systems from the ground up
• Design on-chain coordination mechanisms including funding flows, governance, and research incentives
• Build fault-tolerant backend services integrating with external systems like cloud labs and bio-databases
• Optimize system performance, throughput, and reliability under research workloads
• Lead technical decisions on system design, data models, and scaling strategy
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, observability, and incident response
