AI Backend Engineer (AI Workflow Systems)

About this role

BJAK seeks an AI Backend Engineer to build and operate production systems powering AI-driven insurance workflows across Southeast Asia's largest digital insurance platform. You'll design inference pipelines, optimize performance, implement observability, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI services.

What you'll do

• Build and operate backend systems serving AI-powered insurance workflows in production
• Design AI orchestration layers connecting models, APIs, workflows, and business logic
• Implement inference pipelines for LLM-based and AI-assisted automation
• Optimize latency, throughput, and cost across AI services through caching, batching, and routing
• Implement observability systems including logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response
• Debug production issues in distributed AI systems and collaborate with frontend, product, and ML teams
