AI Backend Engineer (AI Workflow Systems)

About this role

BJAK, Southeast Asia's leading digital insurance platform, seeks an AI Backend Engineer to build and operate production systems powering AI-driven insurance workflows. You'll design inference pipelines, orchestration layers, and optimize high-throughput services while collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI automation.

What you'll do

• Build and operate backend systems serving AI-powered insurance workflows in production
• Design AI orchestration layers connecting models, APIs, and business logic
• Implement LLM-based inference pipelines and optimization strategies (caching, batching, streaming)
• Establish observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response
• Debug production issues across distributed systems and resolve root causes
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and ML teams to ship end-to-end features
