Android Software Engineer

About this role

A1 seeks an Android engineer to build a production mobile app where AI interactions are central to the user experience. You'll develop Kotlin-based features integrating LLMs, vision, and voice while optimizing performance and reliability for real-world AI workflows.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain production Android applications using Kotlin
• Integrate AI-powered features (chat, vision, voice, recommendations) through backend APIs
• Design UX patterns for AI interactions including streaming responses and error handling
• Optimize app performance, memory, and responsiveness for AI-heavy features
• Implement analytics, logging, and feedback mechanisms for AI evaluation
• Collaborate with backend and ML engineers on API contracts and system behavior

• Kotlin and Android development (3+ years)
• AI/LLM API integration experience
• Asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow)
• REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats
• Performance profiling and debugging
• Handling latency and non-deterministic system behavior
• MLKit or on-device inference experience
• Google Play Store app publication
