Applied AI Engineer

About this role

BJAK, Southeast Asia's largest digital insurance platform, seeks an Applied AI Engineer to design and deploy AI-powered features directly into insurance workflows. You'll transform LLM capabilities into production-ready product experiences—from customer interactions to internal automation—while ensuring reliability, measurable performance, and real-world impact.

What you'll do

• Build and integrate LLM-based features into insurance product workflows (quotes, claims, customer support)
• Design prompts, reasoning flows, and structured outputs optimized for production use cases
• Evaluate AI model performance using real-world data, user feedback, and experimentation
• Implement guardrails, fallback logic, and validation layers to ensure output reliability
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI capabilities into APIs and systems
• Analyze user behavior and model responses to drive continuous performance improvement

• Production software engineering experience
• LLM working knowledge (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models)
