About this role

BJAK seeks an Applied AI Engineer to design and integrate AI-powered features into insurance workflows, focusing on turning LLM capabilities into production-ready product behaviors. You'll build reliable AI interactions for customer-facing and internal systems, working remotely with a global engineering team to automate and enhance insurance processes.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate LLM-based features into insurance product workflows (quotes, claims, customer operations)
  • Develop prompts, reasoning flows, and structured outputs optimized for production use cases
  • Evaluate model performance using real-world data, user feedback, and experimentation frameworks
  • Implement guardrails, fallback logic, and validation layers to ensure AI reliability
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI capabilities into APIs and systems
  • Build AI-driven automation features including chat, recommendations, and decision support tools
