Applied AI Engineer

About this role

BJAK, Southeast Asia's largest digital insurance platform, seeks an Applied AI Engineer to design and deploy AI-powered features directly into insurance workflows. You'll transform LLM capabilities into production-ready product behaviors—from chatbots and recommendations to decision support and automation—while ensuring reliability through testing and user feedback loops.

What you'll do

• Build and integrate AI-powered features into insurance product workflows and APIs
• Design prompts, reasoning flows, and structured outputs for LLM-based interactions
• Evaluate model performance using real-world data and experimentation frameworks
• Implement guardrails, fallback logic, and validation layers for AI reliability
• Analyze user behavior and model responses to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship end-to-end AI features

• Production software engineering experience
• LLM APIs and prompt engineering (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models)
• Python and Node.js
• API integration and REST architecture
• A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
• SQL/NoSQL databases
