Applied AI Engineer

About this role

BJAK, Southeast Asia's largest digital insurance platform, seeks an Applied AI Engineer to design and deploy LLM-powered features directly into insurance workflows. You'll transform AI capabilities into production-ready product experiences, optimizing interactions across quotations, claims, customer service, and internal operations for millions of users.

What you'll do

• Build and integrate AI-powered features into insurance product workflows and APIs
• Design prompt strategies, reasoning flows, and structured outputs for LLM-based interactions
• Evaluate model performance using real-world data, feedback loops, and A/B testing
• Implement reliability mechanisms including guardrails, validation, and fallback logic
• Develop AI-driven automation features for chat, recommendations, and decision support
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship end-to-end AI features

• Production software engineering experience
• LLM APIs and prompt engineering (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models)
• Python and Node.js development
• REST API and system integration design
