Platform Engineer - AI Workflow Systems (Remote, China)

About this role

BJAK seeks a Platform Engineer in China to design and build core infrastructure powering AI-driven workflow automation across their insurance systems. You'll create shared platform components enabling multiple engineering teams to ship faster while maintaining reliability, scalability, and observability across complex business processes.

What you'll do

• Design and build platform components for AI-driven workflow automation and orchestration
• Develop shared infrastructure for state management, execution tracking and workflow visibility
• Create internal tools and APIs that improve engineering velocity and system standardization
• Enhance reliability, scalability and performance of core platform services
• Collaborate with product, engineering and operations teams on workflow execution standards
• Reduce service duplication by building reusable platform capabilities and abstractions

What they're looking for

• Platform or backend systems engineering experience
• Distributed systems design and service-oriented architecture
• Workflow orchestration or event-driven architecture knowledge
• Multi-service debugging and systems thinking
• Backend languages (Node.js, Python, Java or similar)
• Observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
• CI/CD and deployment automation
• Infrastructure and service framework design
