UX Engineer, HCI

About this role

A1 is hiring a UX Engineer to design and build interfaces for an AI smart assistant that handles real-world tasks and workflows. You'll prototype novel interaction patterns for AI-driven experiences, focusing on making AI behavior transparent, controllable, and trustworthy for everyday users.

What you'll do

• Prototype and ship AI-native interfaces across web and mobile platforms
• Create functional prototypes for streaming responses, multi-step workflows, and real-time feedback systems
• Design UI patterns that clearly communicate progress, uncertainty, confidence, and failure states
• Build interfaces enabling users to supervise and redirect AI behavior intuitively
• Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to validate interaction concepts rapidly
• Develop reusable components and frontend architecture for AI product surfaces
