UX Engineer, HCI

About this role

Join A1 as a UX Engineer to design and build interfaces for a proactive AI assistant, focusing on making AI behavior transparent, controllable, and integrated into real workflows. You'll prototype novel interaction patterns for AI-driven experiences across web and mobile, bridging design and engineering without established conventions to follow.

What you'll do

• Build and prototype AI-native interfaces across web and mobile platforms
• Create functional prototypes for streaming responses, multi-step tasks, real-time feedback, and system state visibility
• Design UI patterns that clearly communicate progress, uncertainty, confidence, and recovery states
• Develop interfaces allowing users to supervise, correct, and redirect AI behavior
• Contribute to frontend architecture and reusable components for AI product surfaces
• Identify and resolve usability, performance, and state management issues
