About this role
Blissway is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to design and maintain ultra-reliable hardware for toll collection systems deployed across US highways. You'll own the full lifecycle—from schematics and PCB design to manufacturing optimization and edge software—ensuring 99.9% uptime in harsh outdoor environments.
What you'll do
- Design schematics, PCBs, housings, and cabling for roadside hardware systems
- Ensure reliability of power systems, cellular connectivity, and high-speed sensors in extreme conditions
- Write firmware and edge software that bridges hardware constraints with system requirements
- Lead CAD iterations to improve manufacturing yield and long-term device serviceability
- Collaborate across teams on system integration and problem-solving in a lean startup environment
- Conduct testing with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and field deployment validation

- Python, TypeScript, or C/C++
- PCB design (Altium or equivalent)
- CAD proficiency (Onshape or similar)
- Edge computing and IoT systems
- Linux and AWS infrastructure
- Hardware-software integration and debugging
- Outdoor product design and weatherproofing
- Computer vision for sensor systems
