Platform Engineer

About this role

Bloom & Wild, Europe's largest direct-to-consumer flower and gifting company, seeks a Platform Engineer to support their 60+ person technology team. You'll work across frontend, backend, and data teams to improve infrastructure, shipping processes, and developer productivity in a flexible, AI-enabled environment.

What you'll do

• Support domain squads with platform improvements and infrastructure challenges
• Identify and own end-to-end platform problems affecting developer experience
• Design and maintain shared infrastructure serving multiple brands and services
• Collaborate across frontend, backend, data, and data science teams
• Develop microservices and domain-driven services as needed
• Balance embedded squad work with central platform initiatives

What they're looking for

• Backend development (Ruby/Rails or Python preferred)
• AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms
• PostgreSQL and database design
• Microservices architecture
• Infrastructure and DevOps practices
• API design and integration
• Problem scoping and ownership mindset
• Cross-team collaboration
