Software Engineer III, Edge Networking Platform

About this role

Box is seeking a Software Engineer III to design and build backend services and infrastructure automation for their Edge Networking Platform. You'll transform manual network processes into scalable, self-serve capabilities using Python and Terraform, working closely with internal teams to improve developer experience and reliability.

What you'll do

• Design and implement backend services in Python that expose network capabilities to internal application owners
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for network resource provisioning and management
• Convert manual, ticket-driven processes into automated workflows that scale across teams
• Integrate observability, guardrails, and auditing into network changes for safety and compliance
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams on end-to-end solutions
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage network issues
