Software Engineer III, Kubernetes

About this role

Box seeks a Software Engineer III to design, build, and operate scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure that enables product teams to deploy applications efficiently. You'll work on core platform services, improve developer experience, and contribute to the evolution of Box's cloud-native PaaS platform while mentoring junior engineers.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain Kubernetes platform components including clusters, operators, controllers, and admission webhooks
• Build and operate highly available Kubernetes environments across hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Develop internal platform tools and APIs to enhance developer productivity and self-service capabilities
• Troubleshoot complex production issues related to Kubernetes, networking, storage, and distributed systems
• Implement infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Mentor early-career engineers and contribute to technical design reviews and architecture discussions
