Founding Design Engineer

About this role

Bretton AI seeks a Founding Design Engineer to build and own the design system that powers their AI agent platform for financial compliance. You'll translate design concepts into production-grade frontend code while ensuring interfaces remain legible, accessible, and performant for compliance reviewers.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the design system in code, creating reusable components and patterns for the product
• Ship production-ready frontend interfaces from concept through deployment, prioritizing performance and accessibility
• Design interface patterns that make AI agent behavior transparent and auditable for compliance reviewers
• Partner with the product designer on direction and validate ideas through working code
• Collaborate with engineering on architecture and frontend codebase integration
