Building Commissioning Engineer

About this role

CAI seeks a Commissioning Engineer in Houston to oversee the installation, testing, and startup of MEP and control systems on complex capital projects. You'll develop commissioning plans, conduct inspections and functional tests, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all systems meet design specifications and safety standards.

What you'll do

• Oversee commissioning of MEP and control systems from installation through startup and testing
• Develop detailed commissioning plans, test schedules, procedures, and Pre-Functional Checklists
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to verify systems meet design specifications
• Perform functional performance tests and prepare test reports and project handover documentation
• Coordinate field activities with technicians and trade partners during construction phases
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes and timely delivery
