About this role

Cape is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to build and maintain the backbone of a privacy-focused mobile carrier. You'll own the full lifecycle of telecommunications infrastructure, monitoring systems, and compliance processes while working on high-impact problems in a well-funded early-stage startup.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain privacy-focused telecommunications and deployment infrastructure end-to-end
  • Build instrumentation and monitoring tooling to improve system reliability, availability, and performance
  • Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues before they impact service
  • Integrate with existing and new telecommunications infrastructure components
  • Lead FedRamp technical accreditation and compliance process
  • Establish software engineering best practices and influence team standards

What they're looking for

  • Software engineering or SRE (4+ years preferred)
  • AWS expertise
  • Golang, Rust, Java/Kotlin, or Python
  • Monitoring infrastructure and tools
  • High availability systems design
  • Azure and/or GCP (nice to have)
  • Mobile telecommunications technologies like IMS or 4G/5G (nice to have)
  • Passion for privacy and national security
