Software Development Engineer II, Engagement

About this role

CarGurus seeks a Software Engineer II for their Engagement team to design and build consumer-facing email experiences that drive user engagement using AI and personalization. You'll collaborate across technical and marketing teams to create impactful email campaigns and on-site touchpoints for millions of car shoppers.

What you'll do

• Develop responsive email UIs and designs that increase user engagement on the platform
• Build and manage agentic tools for email UI creation and asset library governance
• Partner with backend engineers on data feeds and subscription/consent experiences
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and UX teams on email campaign strategy and design
• Guide projects from concept through design, implementation, testing, and performance measurement
• Review campaign designs and oversee external contractor work
