About this role

CesiumAstro seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer II to develop embedded Linux software for satellite and airborne communication systems. You'll work across the full software lifecycle, from design through production support, collaborating closely with hardware and FPGA teams on complex space-grade systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize embedded Linux systems using Yocto build framework
  • Design and implement device drivers, kernel customization, and bootloaders
  • Perform board bring-up and hardware-software integration testing
  • Participate in architecture design and technical leadership activities
  • Support qualification testing and in-orbit system maintenance
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and FPGA engineers on cross-functional projects
