About this role
CesiumAstro seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of satellite and aerospace communication systems throughout their lifecycle. You'll work in a dynamic startup environment handling mechanical design, simulation, analysis, and testing of cutting-edge space hardware.
What you'll do
- Support mechanical design of satellite and spacecraft products from concept through in-orbit support
- Perform mechanical simulations, finite element analysis, and thermal/vibration studies
- Create and iterate CAD models and detailed design documentation
- Conduct environmental qualification testing and analysis of electronic assemblies
- Present engineering design review materials to stakeholders
- Apply GD&T, thermal management, and EMI/EMC principles to optimize designs
