About this role

CesiumAstro seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to design and develop mechanical systems for satellite and aerospace platforms throughout the full product lifecycle. The role combines hands-on CAD work, thermal and structural analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic startup environment.

What you'll do

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems from concept through production
  • Conduct thermal, shock, vibration, and finite element analyses to validate designs
  • Develop electronics packaging solutions with attention to EMI/EMC mitigation and thermal management
  • Create technical documentation including requirements, drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Support manufacturing, testing, and qualification phases with hands-on involvement
  • Present engineering design reviews and technical materials to customers and leadership
