Cloud Engineer (AWS)

About this role

CGS seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer (AWS) to design and document cloud solutions for a large federal agency. The role involves architecting scalable, secure cloud infrastructure, supporting migrations, and facilitating operational transitions while collaborating with government stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Design cloud solutions that balance flexibility, scalability, and security compliance requirements
• Develop comprehensive documentation for engineering, security, and operational processes
• Conduct business and technical analysis to support customer decision-making
• Perform AWS cloud migrations including lift-and-shift approaches
• Facilitate solution transitions to operations and ensure systems meet performance boundaries
• Design large-scale distributed applications with strong architectural focus on availability and reliability

• Cloud architecture design (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
• Distributed systems and scalability
• Cloud migrations and lift-and-shift methodologies
• Cloud networking, storage, and identity management
• Technical documentation and communication

• AWS or Cloud Architect certification (or willingness to obtain)
