About this role

CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer in Dallas to lead architecture and design planning for enterprise desktop integration initiatives. The role involves developing OS images, managing large-scale software deployments, and supporting government technology modernization efforts.

What you'll do

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Desktop OS image development and enterprise-wide deployment
  • Engineer robust solutions for large-scale software distribution using MECM, MDT, and related technologies
  • Design and implement OS patching infrastructure and automated server build processes
  • Develop software distribution packages and manage updates across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
  • Analyze and recommend hardware solutions; provide technical recommendations for user software requirements
  • Execute security-related tasks including vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance auditing

What they're looking for

  • Windows OS engineering (Windows 7/10 migration experience)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • PowerShell and VB scripting
  • Microsoft Office and application integration
  • Security controls implementation and vulnerability management
  • Cisco Secure Access/VPN and remote access technologies
  • VDI/Citrix and SCCM experience
  • Anti-virus integration and PKI understanding
