About this role
CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer in Dallas to lead architecture and design planning for enterprise desktop integration initiatives. The role involves developing OS images, managing large-scale software deployments, and supporting government technology modernization efforts.
What you'll do
- Serve as subject matter expert for Desktop OS image development and enterprise-wide deployment
- Engineer robust solutions for large-scale software distribution using MECM, MDT, and related technologies
- Design and implement OS patching infrastructure and automated server build processes
- Develop software distribution packages and manage updates across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
- Analyze and recommend hardware solutions; provide technical recommendations for user software requirements
- Execute security-related tasks including vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance auditing

- Windows OS engineering (Windows 7/10 migration experience)
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- PowerShell and VB scripting
- Microsoft Office and application integration
- Security controls implementation and vulnerability management
- Cisco Secure Access/VPN and remote access technologies
- VDI/Citrix and SCCM experience
- Anti-virus integration and PKI understanding
