About this role
CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to lead architecture and planning for enterprise desktop integration efforts. You'll serve as the subject matter expert for OS imaging, software deployment at scale, and security implementation across government systems.
What you'll do
- Design and implement Desktop OS images and large-scale software deployment solutions using MECM and MDT
- Develop, test, and manage software distribution packages and updates across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
- Act as subject matter expert and provide technical recommendations for user software requirements and hardware selection
- Support OS patching infrastructure and perform security-related tasks including vulnerability assessments and patch management
- Implement automated server build processes and OS deployment methodologies
- Conduct security documentation, auditing, and assess desktop/server hardware compatibility

- Windows OS engineering (Windows 7/10 integration and upgrades)
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- PowerShell and VB scripting
- Microsoft Office and Exchange integration experience
- Security controls implementation and patch management
- VPN/Remote access configuration (Cisco Secure Access preferred)
- Anti-virus integration and PKI understanding
- Independent problem-solving with minimal guidance
