About this role

CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to lead operating system image development, large-scale software deployment, and desktop infrastructure architecture for government systems. You'll serve as the subject matter expert for Windows OS deployments, manage enterprise patching and security, and recommend hardware and software solutions across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement Desktop/Server OS images using MECM and MDT deployment technologies
  • Develop and test software distribution packages for enterprise desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
  • Manage OS patching infrastructure and apply security updates using tools like BigFix or Windows Update
  • Analyze and recommend desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware solutions
  • Provide technical recommendations for user software requirements and security compliance
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and patch management documentation

What they're looking for

  • Windows OS engineering (Windows 7/10 migration experience preferred)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • PowerShell and VB Script scripting languages
  • Microsoft Office and Exchange integration
  • Security controls implementation and patch management
  • Antivirus application integration
  • VPN/Remote access (Cisco Secure Access, RSA)
  • SCCM, VDI/Citrix, VMware, and PKI experience a plus
