Network Engineer

About this role

Contact Government Services seeks an experienced Network Engineer in Baltimore, MD to evaluate, design, and implement comprehensive network infrastructure for a large-scale government project involving wired, wireless, and software components. You'll work with government stakeholders and vendors to assess current systems, conduct testing, and ensure security while providing technical guidance and documentation.

What you'll do

• Operate, manage, and optimize NPS network infrastructure across wired and wireless systems
• Design and implement network solutions with security patches, firmware updates, and vulnerability assessments
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless network health, and troubleshoot RF and LAN issues
• Develop and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and JIRA tickets
• Define testing procedures for new projects and provide design recommendations to stakeholders
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and knowledge transfer to government personnel

What they're looking for

• Network infrastructure design and management (Layer 2/3 protocols, VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
• Wireless network administration (802.1x, Cloudpath, RF site surveys, Ekahau)
• Network security (802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, certificate authority)
• RF troubleshooting and packet analysis tools (Wireshark, RF Scanners)
• CWNA and BCNE certifications required
• Linux, MS Server 2013, and VMware administration
• Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
• Agile/Scrum project management methodologies
