About this role
CGS seeks an experienced Network Engineer in Washington, DC to evaluate, design, and maintain large-scale network infrastructure supporting both wired and wireless systems for a government project. You'll work with government stakeholders and vendors to implement network solutions, conduct security assessments, and provide technical guidance across a complex IT environment.
What you'll do
- Operate and manage network infrastructure with monitoring and reporting capabilities
- Design and implement wireless and wired network solutions with security patches and firmware updates
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and systems quality assurance
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to stakeholders on network best practices
- Interface with government personnel, internal teams, and vendors to deliver infrastructure improvements

- Network infrastructure management and Cloudpath administration
- Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
- Network security (802.1x, MAC authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA)
- RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF scanners, Wireshark)
- Linux, MS Server, VMware administration
- Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
- CWNA and BCNE certifications
- Technical documentation and JIRA ticket management
