About this role
Contact Government Services seeks an experienced Network Engineer in Chantilly, VA to evaluate, design, and maintain large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure for government clients. The role involves infrastructure assessment, systems testing, vulnerability assessments, and collaboration with government personnel and vendors on comprehensive network modernization projects.
What you'll do
- Operate, manage, and assess NPS network infrastructure for optimization and improvement
- Design, implement, and maintain wireless and wired network solutions with security patches and firmware updates
- Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, and troubleshoot RF and LAN issues
- Develop infrastructure documentation, network diagrams, and conduct testing procedures for new projects
- Review best practices and provide architecture recommendations for network design and operations
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to government personnel on network products and best practices
What they're looking for
- Network infrastructure design and management (switching, routing, VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
- Wireless network administration and RF site surveying (Ekahau, Wireshark, RF scanners)
- Network security implementation (802.1x, MAC authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, certificates)
- Linux, Windows Server, and VMware administration
- Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
- CWNA and BCNE certifications (or equivalent)
- Technical documentation and JIRA ticket management
- Disaster recovery planning and testing
