Network Engineer

About this role

CGS seeks an experienced Network Engineer in Charlotte, NC to evaluate, design, and implement large-scale network infrastructure for a government project. The role involves managing wired and wireless networks, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with government personnel and vendors to optimize network systems.

What you'll do

• Operate, manage, and monitor NPS network infrastructure and deployment of network management software
• Design, implement, and document network infrastructure solutions including wireless, wired, and software components
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding processes and troubleshoot wireless network health and security
• Review best practices and provide recommendations for network architecture, design, management, and optimization
• Conduct testing procedures, vulnerability assessments, and quality assurance for new infrastructure projects
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources on network products and best practices

What they're looking for

• Network infrastructure design and implementation (wireless and wired)
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalent
• RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark)
• Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
• Network security (802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, Certificate Authority)
• Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware administration
• Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
• Technical documentation and communication with diverse stakeholders
