PostgreSQL Database Developer

About this role

CGS seeks an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure Postgres while managing database environments for a federal Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. You'll ensure system scalability, performance, and high availability while supporting a growing government technology initiative.

What you'll do

• Drive Oracle to Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL database migration efforts
• Monitor database systems proactively to maintain security, performance, and minimal downtime
• Create and maintain technical documentation while developing deep business data knowledge
• Perform database performance tuning and assist developers with optimization
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, patching, and upgrade processes
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate technical objectives into requirements

What they're looking for

• PostgreSQL administration in Linux environments (7+ years)
• Oracle database experience and schema migration using Ora2Pg tool
• PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery implementation
• Database performance tuning and monitoring
• AWS RDS for PostgreSQL
• Cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
• Data warehouse implementation and maintenance
• Agile development methodologies
