PostgreSQL Database Developer

About this role

CGS seeks an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure Postgres and manage database environments for a federal data analytics platform. You'll ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability while collaborating across teams to implement effective data solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead Oracle to Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL database migration efforts
• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and resource allocation
• Create and maintain technical documentation and manage business data requirements
• Perform performance tuning and assist developers with optimization
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and patching processes
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate technical objectives into requirements

What they're looking for

• PostgreSQL database administration (7+ years in Linux environments)
• Oracle schema, packages, views, and triggers migration using Ora2Pg tool
• PostgreSQL instance setup, monitoring, and maintenance
• Backup and disaster recovery implementation
• Cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS preferred)
• Data warehouse implementation
• AWS RDS for PostgreSQL
• Agile development methodologies
