PostgreSQL Database Developer

About this role

CGS is hiring an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer in Boston to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure Postgres while ensuring optimal performance and availability of data systems supporting a federal analytics platform. You'll manage database environments, conduct performance tuning, and collaborate across teams to implement scalable solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead and execute migration from Oracle database to Microsoft Azure Postgres using Ora2Pg tool
• Monitor database systems proactively to ensure security, performance, and minimal downtime
• Perform performance tuning and assist developers in optimizing database queries
• Create and maintain technical documentation and develop in-depth knowledge of business data requirements
• Manage database maintenance including patching, upgrades, and rollouts
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes for PostgreSQL instances
